Brother, I think you have some misunderstanding on current situation.
My Tvpad 3 is like a garbage since yesterday, nothing is working.
You can still open the app but you will never able to play a single file in there.
They completely cut off our service not the support.
Such action is forcing us to do upgrade, you pay or no service at all...
Is that practice honest enough for us, brother???
I fully understand it will be the ending story since day one I bought this device.
I won't have a single words if this device completely gone in the market.
But now it is a different story.

What I further see is that in a statement originating from Dish/Sling TV is that they plan to aggressively pursue other streaming devices.

    SEE: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20151109006384/en/Federal-Court-Bans-Illegal-Distribution-Chinese-Television

This tells me that Moon Box and others are going to come under the same sort of scrutiny as TVPad in the future.

I'm totally 100% agreed with you brother, when you purchased any of these boxes, you know there's a risk.

    TVPad 1/2/3 R.I.P !

Sorry to see you go to electronic recycling bin since you have no other uses. Thank you for giving our family a lot of entertainment for past few years with a low cost and teach my kid a lot of Cantonese.

I will never upgrade to TVPad 4 since your parents broke their promise!

Agree! I wish they provide a way to install-flash a different firmware on the TVpad 1,2,3 so they can function as an Android box. Is it even possible?

    HI.
I just found .....How to Root the TVPad by Tim Chen

    http://hellotim.me/2015/01/09/how-to-root-the-tvpad/#disqus_thread

The first concern is how long will tvpad 4 last after all this shutdowns of site and streaming service. Secondly, it is just a bad time to call a shutdown in the midst of chaos. The tvpad aren't even working before the pronounced shutdown date. If everything is working well and you give people formal notice of shutdown they would be much more willing. Now people are not certain of the future and i think so is the company. Third, you should at least support one of the previous model like many companies do or people would think they need to upgrade whenever there a new one. I understand business need money and more so in midst of crisis but now what you need to get customers trust or give them confidence first.

Only in countries that have an injunction against them. That's why people are using VPN. Think of them as Piratesbay.

I guess TV PAD is trying to scoop up last bit of money from the market by forcing us to upgrade to TVPAD 4, and later on just disappear all together when the lawsuit is settled.
People, DO NOT get TVPAD4 and fall into yet another trap.

well technically you can't upgrade to TVpad 4 (atleast not for trade-in) if you live in US, as site is blocked, only way to access site is using vpn, but than they don't ship it to US. but ya considering they are stopping services for 1/2/3 they can always do the same with 4 in year or something. guess getting iptv device for international live tv always has the risk as their server can get shutdown at any given time. honestly TVpad when sold promised life time, but they also stated they only provide device, app's running on it are not their responsibility. so they could of kept the greenman going but no apps working which can avoid lawsuit.

I have a better suggestion. If you bought/upgraded your tvpad through tvpad's site, call your credit card and have them dispute the charge citing the lawsuit ie they sold a product which misleading information which does not do what they promised + being illegal.

How do you dispute a charge that is more than a year old ?

    Especially for tvpad 1 -2.

Tvpad 4, yes. Dispute will make sense
