Are you supposed to use the Long username VPNUnlimited gives you?

    1) No, I just used the email
    2) No, I just used the password provided by them. Perhaps that password is the same as the secret key ?

Are you sure you are using as a VPN client ?

Yes, I'm sure I'm using it as a VPN client. Some of the other things that I've noticed is that when I switched to L2TP, my 2Wire modem/router is flagging me that it detected the "router behind router". I tried enabling it and when I check the IP address, I'm getting the IP address that's assigned to my internet connection. It is also configuring me in DMZ mode to disable all firewall. When I disable it, I'm getting 192.168.1.x assigned from my 2Wire router. In both cases, when I did a connect, it would disconnect. So when it's disconnected, the 2Wire is just routing everything thru that IP address assigned by it. I can tell because with my tablet, I can connect to my TPLink router wireless 192.168.0.xx and still have access thru my network to the internet.

Something else that I've tried with my laptop wired to my 2Wire modem/router, is that I can use VPNGate /SoftEther VPN and I can access the public VPN in Hong Kong. I checked the assigned IP with IPChicken. This tells me that I can get around the 2Wire firewall okay.

Sorry to ask if it answered already. Download from the site or install n+ store on my tvpad1?
I thought the version on n+ store is for tvpad3 only?

Any one knows how to install app on tvpad1 either using the usb or other external drive?

I just set up a L2TP connection with VPN Unlimited, and used a Hong Kong server. Also tried Tokyo's server.

    It made no difference.

TVpad 3 can only access live streams with a Chinese DNS (it can't do live streaming if I tell it to get a DNS server automatically).
TVpad 2 can't authenticate ('grey man'), regardless whether it is a Chinese DNS or not. User does not exist.

Confirmed my router was getting an overseas IP via 3 other devices connected to it. The other devices are able to access Internet fine. Automatic DNS servers are my ISP's DNS servers with 208.x.x.x.

At some point, one has to wonder, wouldn't it be easier just go get another TV box - there are literally ten's of brands out there doing the same thing and Xiaomi box is selling for only around 90 US bucks... half price of TV pads

With that being said, I already ordered two other similar tv boxes from Hong Kong - they are shipping from Hong Kong since they don't sell it here in US because I am not smart enough to figure out this VPN and not all of the apps works with VPN connection it sounds like.

if you have vpnunlimited, you have to set your 2nd router to use L2TP not PPTP. and you have to put the 49.213.10.163 in the primary dns or else you will not get the green man back. you can leave the tvpad settings on "auto".

Who said no live stream? I have other boxes that were giving to me as gift to test, one of them call NETXTV have live channels. Their TVEgg app have around 500 live channels. HK, China, US all kind of live channels.

Edit: it don't even need any DNS or VPN
